In May 2022, I travelled to Peru to photograph three unique Peruvian accommodations – one located in central Cusco, another in Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, and the final one in Miraflores, Lima.
El Balcon – A Charming Hotel in Historic Cusco
During my first couple of days in Peru, I stayed at El Balcon.
Translating to the balcony, El Balcon is a beautiful hotel set in a rustic house in the heart of Cusco, Peru. Dating back to the 17th century, each room has its own unique set of characteristics including wooden floors and exposed wooden beams. With a beautiful garden and balcony views overlooking the city of Cusco, one of my favourite things about this location was that, although it was less than a 10-minute walk from the main square, I felt as though I was in my own little oasis away from the busy streets.
Beginning my trip here and photographing the beautiful space was such a lovely experience.
Part of this collection was inspired by my long-time adoration for doors – a little bit of mystery and a little invitation.
“Savannah’s brand photography is something special. Not only was she a pleasure to work with as a creative and thoughtful individual, but her photos have a subtle yet meaningful feel to them. She did a wonderful job at highlighting the work we do here, and we will be using her photos for years to come.”
