An all-encompassing brand transformation for Psealms – a bespoke wedding photography and videography team based in Australia.
When Mel and Jesse first reached out, they were looking for a space that finally felt like them. A space that felt the warmth, sincerity, depth, and confidence they carry into every wedding they document.
With that being said, our collaboration became about building a brand and website that could hold all of that – everything they value, everything they feel, and everything they want their couples to feel in return. Over the course of this project, we crafted a full brand identity, voice, and digital home that brings their personal stories, shared passions, and artistic philosophy to the forefront in a way that feels refined, character-driven, and down-to-earth.

Intention
The most important thing for Mel and Jesse was to create a brand and website that felt personal and grounded – something that allows visitors to feel seen, understood, and confident in choosing them while also connecting with Psealms, before ever sending an inquiry. They wanted the experience to be warm and inviting, while still conveying a confidence that resonates with higher-budget couples seeking an elevated and professional wedding team.
The emotional keyword anchors we used for this project were purposeful, sentimental, and sincere, while the functional keyword anchors were clarity, ease, and trust.
We set out to build a digital home that:
- Instantly communicates their warmth, sincerity, and grounded presence through the use of custom website copywriting
- Builds trust and connection through thoughtful storytelling and intentional design
- Showcases their work in a way that feels effortless, beautiful, and intuitive
- Simplifies the booking journey and removes overwhelm at every step
- Reflects both of them as individuals while resonating deeply with their ideal couples
The biggest challenge – and opportunity – was merging Mel and Jesse’s personal identities, interests, and emotional tone into one cohesive brand. We wanted people to feel like they were meeting them long before they ever met them in person. This meant infusing the brand with meaningful personal touches: Mel’s love of astrology, their shared love of travel, and the soulful, sentimental way they experience the world together.
Process & Approach
Rather than building outward from fonts, colours, and layouts, we built inward, starting with the emotional core of their brand – caring, genuine, playful, sentimental, and grounded. We wanted their brand/website experience to feel as though you were sitting beside them, comfortable and calm. This sense of emotional ease and depth became the baseline for every design and copy choice.
Visually, we leaned into a timeless and inviting aesthetic inspired by their own personal interests, along with Japanese design principles – especially the simplicity, spaciousness, and thoughtful elegance found throughout Kyoto (the place they chose to represent their brand in the questionnaire).
This translated into:
- A colour palette blending sophisticated neutrals with warm chestnut tones – a nod to Mel’s love for deeper hues and the emotional richness of Taylor Swift’s “Maroon.”
- Intentional, refined typography featuring a classic serif with subtle yet custom ligatures, a handwritten-style script accent, and a clean sans serif for contemporary clarity.
- Premium, abstract monogram design plus large-sized wordmark featured prominently on the website’s homepage.
- Spacious layouts and negative space that let their imagery breathe.
- A minimalist, grounded interface that feels calm and intuitive.
- Handwritten-style notes and marginalia.
- Fine art paper textures for tactility.
- Personal elements connected to astrology and travel.
- A travel-inspired map and list of dream destinations styled like a scrapbook journal page.
- Soft, intentional movement and transitions that echo their storytelling style.
Ultimately, the brand and website came together as a space where Mel and Jesse can be fully themselves, and where clients can instantly feel the sincerity, sentimentality, and emotional depth that make their client experience unforgettable.
