Chelsea Gurr
As a wedding and portrait photographer in the midst of a rebrand, Chelsea wanted to curate an intentional brand experience that would embody her vision for her business. She first approached me with a desire for brand photos that would evoke feelings of laidback luxury, boldness, confidence, poetry, and warmth. The intention was to not only capture photos that would reflect her style as a photographer, but to capture visuals in a way that would resonate with her target audience – more specifically, those who value experiential living as well as the finer things in life.

Process & Approach
We began with an initial discovery call where we dove deeper into her brand story, uncovering her core brand message while also exploring the desires of her ideal clients. This allowed us to create a concept that would accurately represent her brand and capture the essence of her business. We carefully considered the location, aesthetic, lighting, and outfit styling to create a visual experience that aligned with her vision.
To achieve a warm editorial, laidback luxury aesthetic, we chose an indoor studio with textured backgrounds as well as black backdrops to create a sense of stillness while emphasizing the minimal yet bold aspect of her brand.
Capturing a variety of different shots including some more traditional headshots, we also spent time existing in the space photographing the more subtle and natural moments too.

On the day of the shoot, I was feeling nervous (and I expressed this). Savannah is so warm and friendly – the first thing she said was 'well what can I do to make you feel more comfortable?' Her demeanour, pace, and approach immediately put me at ease. She has a way of making you feel comfortable in your own skin, and it really shows in the final product. The photos turned out just as I’d hoped and I can’t wait to put them to use throughout my rebrand
