Intention
The intention behind Maddie’s decision to give her brand and website a visual refresh was simple – she wanted to showcase her photography in a way that aligned with how she’s grown as a photographer and how she feels about her couples today. Soft, romantic, and intentionally dynamic, this design was crafted to feel like an extension of Maddie’s world – one where her artistry, passion for travel, and new Super 8 film offerings could exist alongside one another.
Process & Approach
As someone who considers herself a true romantic – often romanticizing life itself – it only made sense that we took a subtle yet sophisticated approach when designing her branding assets. With that, we chose a refined serif font while adding feminine details to create a brand identity that felt classic yet full of character. The monogram is one of our favourite pieces from this collaboration and was designed to feel like a signature brush stroke. For the website, we used our Olivia Rose template as the base (which naturally includes subtle movements, asymmetrical layouts, and lots of white space to further showcase imagery), and customized the design to complement Maddie’s refined identity and offerings. The final design feels fluid, organic, and inviting while featuring down-to-earth textured backgrounds, script and serif fonts, as well as a collection of video clips captured on Super 8 film. To further provide an opportunity for connection, we used the About page to dive deeper into who Maddie is and how that influences her approach as a photographer.
