This for me, is celebrating 5 years in business. I’d never had a website professionally made before, but now felt like the right time. I wanted something that felt classic and minimal but still filled with heart and feeling. Something a little bit cinematic, but still understated, modern and yet nostalgic. Intention

Inspired by Sprezzatura – an Italian concept referring to the art of appearing effortless – the intention of this project was to craft a brand and website experience that mirrors Katy’s intuitive, emotionally attuned approach to her work. Rather than relying on a rigid structure, she enters each wedding day with presence and openness, allowing moments to unfold naturally and capturing them with instinctive artistry.

As her business expands into more Australian destinations like Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, alongside international work across the UK, Europe, and beyond, Katy wanted her brand identity to evolve and reflect this elevated level of service. With a focus on multi-day wedding coverage and a growing number of intimate celebrations, the experience had to speak to clients seeking intentional, detail-oriented photography with a personal touch, who are ready to invest in a high-quality experience.

Process & Approach

To reflect this balance of high-end service and grounded, heartfelt connection, we set out to build a brand identity that feels luxurious yet welcoming, and romantic yet contemporary.

The design leans into sophisticated neutrals, clean and minimal layouts, space for dramatic images, intuitive navigation, and classic yet modern typography (blending a feminine script with a modern serif for her logo suite, and introducing a sans serif for her body copy, for example) – all of which work together to create a brand that feels expressive, calm, and quietly confident. We also incorporated symmetry in the overall design to reflect the classic proportions often found in European architecture.

The final space reflects a photographer who not only serves at the highest level, but who does so with warmth, humility, and a genuine love for the stories she tells.
